Coming soon – 21st Century Homes Weekend 15/16 September

August 5, 2012 By Cara Jenkinson Leave a Comment

15/16 September – Channing School

A first for Highgate, Muswell Hill and surrounding areas.  If you are planning to get the builders in, are installing a new kitchen or bathroom, need to treat draughty windows, wonder how to lower your energy bills, are unsure of changes permitted in a conservation area, think you might want to add solar, or wonder how to make your home more cosy for winter, come along! There will be expert speakers on subjects such as making a whole house plan, sustainable materials, solar roofs (it’s still a good move) and understanding the Green Deal.  There will be local installers and exhibitors and the chance to hear the stories of people who’ve already brought their homes up to 21st Century standards.   There will also be the opportunity to visit some of these homes.

This free event is being run by Highgate Society Sustainable Homes with support from Muswell Hill Sustainability Group, Transition Highgate and Haringey 40:20.  The venue is Channing School, just down from Highgate High Street and will take place from 11-4 on Saturday 15th September, with house tours on Sunday 16th – put the dates in your diaries!   You can find out more here.
