Pin the Bee on the Flower

June 11, 2012 By Admin 1 Comment

At the Hillfield Park Diamond Jubilee celebrations MHSG member Monique Stone introduced an enterprising blindfold game, Pin the Bee on the Flower, by which she raised awareness of the plight of the honey-bee (hurrah) and a lot of £ for charity (hurrah, hurrah). MHSG member Anne Morris proved very good at it, left-handed too. … [Read more...]

Low carbon zone nears completion

April 8, 2012 By Admin Leave a Comment

Muswell Hill Traders gave us an exciting Green Day on 31 March 2012.  Up and down the Broadway there were musicians, go-go dancers, conjurors and jugglers. And rickshaws did the rounds, carrying customers round the shops to buy discounted green merchandise.  Tucked away in the Crocodile Café was a Green Grotto where the MHSG had a busy stall and the LCZ volunteers displayed … [Read more...]

Low carbon awards for Alan and Kate

Are FiTs no longer fit for purpose ?

March 6, 2012 By Admin Leave a Comment

You could be forgiven for being confused by the present proposals around the flagship scheme to support decentralised, small scale renewable energy systems.  After all, if the “Greenest Government Ever” is unclear about it, how are we supposed to know what is going on ? Well, without standing on my soapbox for too long, let me try to unravel some of the uncertainty, put … [Read more...]

Heading for the last round-up

February 29, 2012 By Admin Leave a Comment

At last the Zone Ranger has found a low carbon vehicle, for getting about town.  He has rounded up a whole herd and is driving them up to Muswell Hill Broadway for Saturday 31 March 2012.  This is when the shops in N10 are going green and putting on festive entertainment and offering specially discounted merchandise.  These cycle-powered rickshaws will help you do the rounds.  … [Read more...]
