October 25, 2020 By Cara Jenkinson Leave a Comment

Fan for air source heat pump at Lucy & Gordon’s home: ‘Air is the fuel for this house’

Our latest online Green Homes event on Monday proved how useful a Zoom event can be – while needs must.. Nearly 30 people gained inspiration from a virtual tour of Lucy Craig and Gordon Best’s retrofitted 1980s timber frame detached house, and contributed to the lively Q&A session which followed.

You can watch – or rewatch – the tour, plus the first of the series (of Stewart McIlroy’s Edwardian villa) on our YouTube channel here.

Coming next.. book now

There are two more exciting free online events to join in our series – please book now!

3. Solar panels – Jon Cowdrill, Joju Solar

If you’re considering a solar PV system, battery storage or an electric vehicle (EV) charging point for your home, it’s important to get the equipment and set-up to best suit your building and household needs. Jon will drawn on Joju Solar’s extensive experience mounting solar panels on everything from shed roofs and hundreds of homes on housing estates, to one-of-a-kind self-builds and living roofs.

4. Smart Meters – Cara Jenkinson, MHSG

Smart meters send readings direct to the supplier, meaning an end to estimated bills and putting consumers in control of their energy use.

Does this mean we can increase our home energy efficiency and save money on energy bills?  MHSG’s Chair Cara Jenkinson will set out the pros and cons.
