Muswell Hill says no to plastic bags

The campaign against plastic bags was one of the first that Muswell Hill Sustainability Group ran, back in 2009 – take a look at our photo to see some familiar faces!

On 5th October the new plastic bag charge comes in – 5p per bag.  In Wales where a bag charge was introduced in 2011, usage of plastic bags has dropped by over 70%.

We will be running a street stall outside Sainsbury’s on Saturday 10th October to celebrate this major step forward for our environment, and we will be selling some of our own Bags for Life.  The bags are designed by MHSG member Alex King and tick all the right boxes – ethically produced from organic cotton.
