The Big One 21st-24th April – will you be there?

The climate emergency is worsening but the Government is opening up new areas for oil and gas fields and cutting taxes on domestic flights.  Meanwhile its plans for cutting carbon don’t match its own targets.  So we’re making clear to Government that the UK people expect it to protect the planet. The Big One is being organised by Extinction Rebellion (XR) and will be joined by many other environmental organisations from across the UK.

What we’re doing on Saturday 22nd April
We’ll meet at East Finchley tube station at 11am, and travel together to the Main Stage at Victoria Street for the Unite for Nature Rally at 1pm. There will be speeches from Chris Packham, Dave Goulson, Jyoti Fernandes of the Land Workers’ Alliance, and Delia Mattis of Black Lives Matter.

At 1.30pm The Big One For Biodiversity March will head off from the Main Stage at Victoria Street on its route around Westminster. If you’re travelling independently, maybe we’ll see you there.  Other events run over four days 21st-24th April – see the summary below, and the full programme from Extinction Rebellion here.

If you can’t attend in person on any of the four days but want to be involved from home you can join the Digital Rebellion – sign up here.
